What awla.mt is

awla.mt is a legal information service for legal practitioners. It reports and indexes judgments and decisions that the Maltese courts and tribunals have published. It shows which judgments cite which provisions of Maltese law, and what happened to a judgment on appeal.

What awla.mt is not

awla.mt is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Nothing on this site, in any newsletter, or in any table is advice on your situation. No lawyer-client relationship arises from reading, subscribing to, or searching awla.mt.

awla.mt does not refer clients to lawyers, does not recommend lawyers, and does not accept payment from lawyers for introductions. awla.mt is not associated with any advocate, legal procurator or law firm.

Decided cases only

awla.mt reports judgments and decisions after they have been delivered and published. It does not report pending proceedings, pleadings, or anything not yet decided.

Accuracy

The tables are produced by software reading the published texts. awla.mt checks them, but errors happen: a citation may be missed, an appeal may be paired to the wrong judgment, a verdict may be read from the wrong passage. Where awla.mt is less sure, the entry says so. Always read the judgment itself before relying on it. Every entry links to the court's own copy on ecourts.gov.mt or the tribunal's own site.

Source of the texts

The judgments come from the public registers of the Maltese courts and tribunals, published by the Court Services Agency and by the tribunals themselves. awla.mt does not alter them. awla.mt's write-ups are awla.mt's own summaries and carry awla.mt's own errors.
